In this stage of the design process, I will explore different solutions to my established "How Might We" statement. I will then use prototyping and testing to refine my designs and choose a final design to further develop.

Reflection
I started developing (prototyping) my app. I utilised Adobe XD for this step, which is a software that enables for simple visual and functional developments.
After creating this prototype, I gave it to my client to test and provide feedback.
I made adjustments based on my client's input and came up with this final design. You can use it below
Key features and details:
- Connect your ballpoint pen to our Bluetooth attachment to take notes that will be automatically transcribed in the app in real-time.
- Canvas notifications integration.
- Dark mode, to help eyesight at night/dark conditions.
- Account settings are also available.
- Available on chrome, though google docs. So users can use it on any device.
- Quick search of all available content in your account.
- Tags, so you can save notes under categories.
- Sharing and collaborating with other students
"How might we design a solution that allows students to combine pen and paper with digital devices to help them organise their notes?" was my original "How Might We" statement. My project, I believe, has generally fulfilled this criteria, while there are obviously some directions for future improvement.
The connection of the user's ballpoint pen is, in my opinion, the most significant aspect of my design that fits my "how might we" statement. It satisfies the requirement since it enables users to "combine pen and paper with digital devices," which aids in the organisation of their notes. I believe another of my design's advantages was its potential to be used on multiple digital platforms. The current solutions on the market support only touch screen devices (mobile/tablets). Another advantage of my solution is its extensive feature set; as my client requested that I mix multiple functions from other existing solutions, I made it a priority to include as many as possible. Many features, such as the "auto transform" tool, allow AI to organise students' notes for them. Which helped me achieve my goal of "helping students organise their notes."
Although I believe these two components of my "How Might We" statement had been reached, I did not feel that the organisation part of my aim had been met to my satisfaction. The reason for this is that I was concentrating on incorporating too many features instead of focusing on a few and making them operate really effectively. While I was concentrating on the many other features, my "auto transform" feature did not work as intended. In the future, I would limit the number of features in my app or conduct a survey of a group of students to determine what features they would find most useful. As a result, I'd be able to concentrate on fully implementing such features.
This project taught me a lot about refinement and the value of developing and sticking to a time management strategy. Because I was too ambitious and unrealistic about how much I could accomplish, it was difficult for me to keep on track with the many components of the project. Within the Develop stage, I struggled to construct three prototypes that I was satisfied with, and I battled to build all of the features to a satisfactory level. Next time, I'd make a more structured strategy to guide me through the design process and set mini "check-points" to keep me on track to meet the deadline.
In the future, I want to continue improving my coding skills so that I can construct new projects instead of relying on prototype and interface models. I am currently a computer science student with coding experience. So, next time, I'll code my final digital products, which will allow me more flexibility in terms of what I can make, as Adobe XD limits what I can accomplish.
Overall, I had a great time working on this project. It challenged me to work to a deadline, encouraged me to develop new skills in interface design and interviews, and allowed me to analyse my future steps as my design skills improved.
